Stack ‘em high!

Why wear one ring all on its own when you can add another and another and perhaps, another! Rings can be stacked for impact and style and help provide a new spin on your rings. Thankfully, stacking is back in trend. As seen on the likes of Rihanna and Amber Le Bon, it’s time to adorn your fingers with layers of sparkle.

“The one rule is balance”, Catherine Alexander, Founder and Designer of Stanmore, told Forbes magazine, “I personally wear a stack of four or five similar thin rings on my first finger, a tall yet simple shape on my middle finger, and then a short stack of two different-sized rings on my ring finger. That way I have near-uniform ring-height across my hand but the total look isn’t overwhelming.”

You want to adhere to the trend, but it’s important not to overdo it. For example, if you’re wearing a stunning cocktail ring on your left hand, you wouldn’t necessarily want to load up your adjacent finger with three or four stacking rings because it creates a ‘more is more’ look which may be appropriate for an event where you want to glam things up a bit but for everyday wear it’s simply not the way to wear it.

A more balanced approach might be pairing something like our Helios eternity ring in rose gold with the Paragon Noir; the exceptionally stunning black diamonds make a bold statement on their own, but their rarity and chicness is illuminated when paired with the shimmering white diamonds set on the full Helios. With these two rings stacked, it’s best to leave the rest of that hand bare to let the jewels speak for themselves. You could, of course, laden your other hand with that divine cocktail ring you’ve been dying to wear. Our Sophia in rose gold would be the ideal compliment to this stacking combination.

Sometimes with stacking, it’s best to keep things simple. So, wearing several rings of the exact same style in varying colours can be a perfect way to do this. Take a basic circular structure like our Vogue eternity rings; they come in a range of colours making them the ideal basic stacker.  The champagne diamond ring, Vogue Siennain yellow gold is a wonderful base when topped with the pale pink sapphires of the Vogue Blush and then topped off with the sharp fuchsia Vogue Ruby ring. From gold, to rose, to dazzling pink – what more could you look for in a stack of rings?
