Yesterday saw the beginning of London Fashion Week for Womenswear Collections for Spring Summer 2013. The world’s fashionistas ascended on our great capital for four days of shows, presentations and parties!
Following a busy day at the Seventy Seven Diamonds office, some were lucky enough to catch up with one of our favourite designers, Markus Lupfer, at his new collection’s presentation in Soho, Central London, with the aptly titled “Fall in Love“.
Markus never fails to impress us with his careful use of sequins to give the added boost of sparkle to many a jumper, t-shirt or dress!
Imagine our surprise when working our way through the collection we spot something oh too familiar to Seventy Seven Diamonds… A diamond ring! This time, in sequins on a beautiful cashmere jumper!
Over the last few seasons, Markus has demonstrated his love for sequined sparkle in a foray of shapes and characters ranging from lips, cats and now our new favourite, the diamond ring! Using this as further inspiration, there were some luxury silk pieces with the same ring printed on a pink blouse, matching culottes and also a blue silk dress, showing diversity doesn’t always have to mean the complete opposite to work.
After the presentation we headed to Kensington Roof Gardens for the PPQ Aftershow Party to wind down following a busy week in the office and an evening of fashion. Drinking flutes of vodka champagne cocktails and gin and tonic in oversized goblet glasses was definitely a way a great way to commence what will no doubt be an iconic London Fashion Week.
